Why I developed this site

I found that to build a rather detailed layout one can spend a considerable amount of money in a short period of time. This did not set to well with the real head of my household. I searched the web for model buildings that came under the catagory of card models. there are a limited amount of railroad buildings that I felt were suited for what I wanted. I also found that paper models were available for other hobbies. My only source of inexpensive buildings was to design and build my own. the following pages are the result.

A friend suggested I put my designs on the net to cater to model railroaders.

I print the models on 210 to 330 pound card stock and wrote up a paper on hints and construction of these various projects. I have tried to keep the price down and have developed several ways to add three dimensional detail. some of the keys to realistic structures is in the art of weathering the finished building. I hope I have accomplished this in my instruction sheets. The buildings are not diffilcult to build, and with a little practice and patience a great effect can be achieved. I would hope you find the same gratification from your finished subject that I have found in developing these projects.
